Jim provides a wide range of one to one training for dogs and their owners with the goal of ensuring they have a long and happy relationship. As well as helping owners set their puppies on the right path, Jim can help you deal with all the behavioural challenges you will meet through out your dogs life.
If you have recently acquired a puppy, like Charlie the Cavapoo, and want to make sure you start your training on the right path, then Jim can provide a one-two-one 6 week puppy training course. This course provides you with the basic foundations of dog training, so essential for a long and happy relationship between dog and owner.
The course will cover an initial assessment session, followed by weekly sessions tailored to your specific requirement aimed to help you understand how your dog learns and interacts with you as its pack leader.
The course will show you how to teach your puppy to walk with you, sit and return when called, to settle and relax, to walk on a lead and to be comfortable when handled (for example at the vet or groomers). How to get its attention, how you get your dog to leave things on command and cope with noises. How to deal with chewing and mouthing. How to socialise your dog with other dogs and people. How to prevent guarding behaviour. How to use a marker word. How to play in a manner that doesn't lead to problem behaviour. How to toilet train your puppy and help your puppy cope with alone time and finally how to recognise your puppies body language and what they are trying to tell you.
The fee for the six-week puppy course is £180 (6 one-hour sessions at £30 each)
Continuing to train your dog over its lifetime is vitally important. It will enable you to get the most out of the dog / owner relationship. A mentally stimulated and confident dog like Kaiser the German Wirehaired Pointer brings so much fun and enjoyment to family life.
Without regular training your dog may gradually forget what it was originally taught and fall into bad habits, in essences looking to do what it wants to do rather than what you want it to do.
Jim can provide an adult dog a 4-week refresher training course that will reinforce the initial training and help keep the owner / dog relationship on the right path so both parties enjoy each other’s company and understand what they can expect from each other.
The fee for the four-week dog course is £140 (4 one-hour sessions at £35 each.
